Hunterdon County Fair shelved until August 2021

by | Jul 1, 2020

EAST AMWELL TOWNSHIP — There will be no Hunterdon County 4-H and Agricultural Fair this year, its board of directors recently announced.
Because of the current executive order restrictions put in place by Gov. Murphy regarding fairs, festivals and amusement parks it would be impossible for the fair to operate.
It is really not a decision by the fair, since its location, Roger K. Everitt Fairgrounds, is part of South County Par, the board said.
All the county parks remain closed to group activities, part of the measures to stop the spread of COVID-19, in accord with state regulations regarding large gatherings such as the fair, which attracts thousands of people a day.
The next Hunterdon fair is scheduled for Aug. 25-29, 2021, the board said.
“We know that not having the fair this year is upsetting to many people, because for hundreds of area families it is the highlight of the summer,” board President Bob Hoffman said. “We really wanted to hold the fair and we share in the sadness of exhibitors, vendors and patrons that it just can’t happen.”
